I Had A Business Meeting In Ahmedabad With An Event Manager

My business of event management was expanding quickly and now the events were not just limited to Mumbai. Thus, I felt a need to expand my team or probably join hands with some another team of event managers to cover all the events. Last week, I came across a team from Ahmedabad that was also looking to expand. I fixed up a meeting with them in Ahmedabad as I was already going for an event near Ahmedabad.

I had enough time and hence I decided to travel by train from Mumbai to Ahmedaba

I usually have a preference for railways when it comes to travelling as I find it comfortable and cost effective as compared to flights. Here again, I was in no hurry and had it planned very early. There were many options for the train from Mumbai to Ahmedabad but Double Deck 12931 was the best for me.

Here is a quick review of my journey and the train.

  1. I booked my ticket online in the Chair Car (the only option) from Mumbai to Ahmedabad in Train No 12931 commonly known as ADI Double Decker Express.
  2. I preferred it because it is the perfect train that particular runs between Ahmedabad and Mumbai and has the fastest travel time at this fare.
  3. There is just a single option for AC Chair Car as it takes just seven and a half hours to get to Ahmedabad.
  4. I also prefer it because it is never late as it originates from Mumbai and terminates at Ahmedabad.
  5. The train is mostly clean and well maintained.
  6. There were just 9 stoppages in between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
  7. The fare of the train was very reasonable with just Rs 660 including all the charges.
  8. The timings of the train are perfect as I can finish the day’s work and board the train in the afternoon.
  9. The train leaves from Mumbai at 2:20 pm and it is scheduled to reach Ahmedabad at 9:40 pm. This time, it was just 10 minutes late from its scheduled arrival time in Ahmedabad.

I always enjoy booking a train on the online portal of IRCTC as it is extremely simple and convenient. Sometimes, the server tends to behave very slowly but most of the time I have had a good experience.

Hotel Naeeka was an affordable option and also reasonably close to the railway station

I was not traveling to Ahmedabad for the first time and thus I knew about the city and the hotels. My priority was a hotel with decent facilities and affordable cost. I searched for the hotels around the station but the cost was too high. After searching for a bit, I found Hotel Naeeka close to Shahibaug under the bridge. It was about 4 km from the railway station. The room in the hotel was available at an affordable cost. I did not enjoy the cleanliness in the room. Bathrooms were clean but the rooms were not so clean.
